Pañacocha Ecolodge doesn’t have fixed departure days. Guaranteed departure with 2 guests.
Our programs begin and end in Coca. During the trip you will be accompanied by a private bilingual guide, local native guide and a cook.
You can choose a 3, 4 and 5 days trip.

Pañacocha Ecolodge is very small, private and personal and away from mass tourism. There are no fixed departure days, guaranteed departure with 2 pax on any day. Travellers who booked together will always have their own private bilingual guide, native guide, cook and flexible program to the best weather and animal-sight opportunities.

  • In the morning the bilingual guide will pick you up from the airport or a hotel in Coca. Departure from Coca by powered boat (75 hp outboard engine), navigation by the Napo and Pañayacu rivers.
  • Pick-nick lunch and bottled water.
  • Arrive at Pañacocha Ecolodge. In the afternoon canoe ride in the fascinating black‐water lake, swimming, dinner.
  • Early in the morning canoe ride by the Pañayacu river and around the Pañacocha lake to enjoy all animal sounds (especially birds and red howler monkeys).
  • Delicious breakfast. After breakfast 3-hours walk through the jungle, to learn about medicinal plants, poisonous plants, insects and animals.
  • Back to the lodge, lunch and rest in a hammock. In the afternoon observation of birds, monkeys, and other animals. swim in the lake, enjoying the sunset. Dinner.
  • Delicious typical breakfast. Motorized canoe ride to a Terra Firma rainforest, for a 3 hours hike. In this type of forest live the bigger animals such as tapirs, capybaras etc.
  • Explanation how the “Curare” vine is prepared by the Amazonian indigenous people to dip in their darts for hunting. Back to the canoe for a pick-nick lunch.
  • Paddle canoeing by Pañayacu river, piraña fishing and observation of all forms of wildlife.
  • Return to the lodge for dinner. Night walk to listen to the sounds and see nocturnal animals such as; Nocturnal owls, snakes, spiders (like tarantulas), frogs and other insects.
  • Breakfast. Ride by motorized canoe to visit a Quichua family, and their banana plantation, cassava, and other products they grow or make for their daily living.
  • Then return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon paddle canoeing through the lake and river looking for pink dolphins, anacondas and other animals.
  • Return to the lodge for dinner. Evening paddle canoeing looking for caimans.
  • Early in the morning canoeing around the lake. Breakfast. After packing the bags or taking a final wonderful swim.
  • Departure to Coca by powered boat 4 to 5 hours, depending on the water level. Lunch.
  • In the afternoon (15:00 or 16:00 o’clock arrival in Coca, where the tour ends.
